Poco X3 NFC

Poco X3 NFC

It is not surprising that the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC is on the list of the best of the mid-range in 2020, perhaps for two simple reasons: it has elements of the most premium phones, and its affordable price makes it practically irresistible.

Its design possibly worries more than one user, which sometimes feels clunky and requires a two-handed operation.

The Poco X3 NFC comes with the classic buttons to raise and lower the volume, as well as the one that allows you to turn on the equipment on the right side. The firm chose to integrate the fingerprint sensor in this last button that allows the mobile to be unlocked efficiently. The slot for the data card and storage expansion (up to 256 GB) is on the right side.

At the bottom, the user will find the 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones, the USB Type C charging port, and the audio channel (there is another speaker at the top of the display).

On its back, as one of the most outstanding elements of the mobile, is the primary lens, which is located in a module that combines lines and contours and stands out considerably from the surface.

Poco X3 NFC camera detail

The quad camera consists of a 64-megapixel primary lens, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It offers 4K recording at 30 frames per second and slow-motion video at up to 960 frames per second. The 20-megapixel front camera with artificial intelligence is located in a discreet notch —centered— at the top of the screen.

It is not a tiny cell phone: it has a 6.67-inch display, which could be a problem for users with small hands because they cannot manipulate it easily with one.

Performance and autonomy

In the tests carried out, the Poco X3 NFC did give a smooth experience in the different tasks, from playing videos to running various productivity applications. In its specifications, there is also an emphasis on a fast and effective response when running mobile games, which is also helped by its 3D heat dissipation and high-precision vibrations, “like a game console.”

Its performance is in charge of the newly introduced Snapdragon 732G, specially designed to take advantage of mobile games. This is complemented by 6 GB of RAM, which results in performance that will meet virtually any user’s communication and entertainment needs.

In storage, it is not short either: up to 128 GB from the factory (a little more than 100 GB free, actually), enough to store content such as music, episodes of series and movies, as well as photos or videos of family or friends.

Finally, the Poco X3 NFC includes a battery that is in tune with all its other specifications: it is 5,160 mAh, which translates into an average use of more than two days, according to the tests carried out. Also, it can go from 15 to 100 percent of its capacity in just over 70 minutes due to its 33-watt fast charge.

Interface

Like other Xiaomi phones, the Poco X3 NFC includes the MIUI customization layer, which means that the user will find a familiar interface —if they have used Android phones before—, but with a few slightly different touches.

Although the various Google applications are included, several platforms from the Chinese firm are also preloaded, from a performance manager to a file “cleaner.”

Essential are tools that let you use the phone, such as remote control, radio, file scanner, audio recorder, and compass.

Poco X3 NFC interface

That does not mean that a saturated interface will be found, no. On the contrary, the willing organization «invites» you to explore the different options of the smartphone.

The infinity of navigation themes in the unit also stands out, so any user will find the style that best represents them.

The Poco X3 NFC —compatible with Google Pay— is a cell phone designed for consumers of mobile content who put a large screen format before design, which does not mean that this smartphone is neglected; on the contrary: it is a well-built mobile from the inside, as evidenced by its powerful hardware.

Due to its characteristics and price: 6,600 pesos in Mexico (330 dollars at the current exchange rate), it is a team that comes to be placed in a dominant position and the mid-range.

It is possible to order it in gray and blue colors, and there is also the 64 GB version, but the price difference is not significant, so it is best to go for the one with 128 GB storage.

Multimedia

If Poco X3 NFC could be defined in a few words, it would be these: it is a device to enjoy mobile multimedia content at a reasonable level, thanks to its refresh rate (120 Hz), its resolution: Full HD+ (2,400x 1,080 pixels ), and its aspect ratio (20:9). Here yes, the size of the screen makes a difference to have a satisfactory playback experience. Just so it doesn’t go unnoticed, its refresh rate means it updates its image 120 times per second.

Playing content on the Poco X3 NFC

It is true that since it is an IPS display, it does not reach the level that AMOLED smartphones do, which is evident in the richness of the colors. The range that the Xioami device reproduces is not that rich.

According to the manufacturer, the sound is stereo – “studio-quality speakers,” an element that separates the Poco X3 NFC from its closest competitors—complicated that the mid-range dares to put a dual audio channel in its units, significantly not to increase its price.

With everything and its large format, again, the phone screen does not leave you unsatisfied when watching the video, much less when displaying photos or information of all kinds, even with the brightness at its medium level.
